Cosi by Louis Nowra
Melbourne 1971. The Vietnam war is reaching its conclusion as moratoriums take centre stage around the country. In the midst of this new decade, we find recent university graduate, Lewis, accepting his first paid job directing a play at the local asylum. Lewis enters the old burnt out hall on the asylum grounds understanding life through the lens of a middle-class, sheltered, reluctant activist; ready to teach the inmates about his narrow understanding of the theatre. Instead, he takes the audience on a journey where the lines are blurred and reality just got a whole lot bigger.
