Brutal

This program and production may contain images or the voices of people who have passed.

“Men at some time are masters of their fates: The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars But in ourselves, that we are underlings.”

2040, As the city of Rome, Australias Second Largest City reaches ever skywards, the alleys and streets below grow darker and more dangerous. Forgotten and outcast, The Underlings take the rule of law into their own hands. Dance, music, physical theatre and poetry combine to form a truly unique theatrical event.

Based on William Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar, Brutal is a gripping new kaleidoscopic marriage of forms created by and featuring a completely diverse company of the Central Coast’s most promising emerging artists led by NAISDA graduates Neville Williams Boney and Amy Flannery, under the guidance of Jopuka Artistic Director, Joshua Maxwell.
